| Glass holds a particular fascination for me. I exploit its properties to become viscous during firing to create delicate sculptures, with a little help from gravity.It is a challenging and demanding material to work with but the uniqueness of each piece that I retrieve from the kiln continues to enthral. My ceramic work is essentially my sketchbook. I work much better in 3D allowing my ideas to evolve with the use of clay.Many of these maquettes are the basis for larger works and installations; others are art works in their own right. |
